Burns Elevator

Grain elevators are a common sight in any farming community.  In the Midwest, the older and smaller elevators were built near a town with a railroad, six to twelve miles apart because that's the distance farmers with a team of horses and a wagon load of grain could drive roundtrip in one day.  The Burns, KS elevator has an uncommon design with many different rooflines.  (NOTE:  This is also available in color.)
